How It Works

• Oxidation: Soluble iron and manganese are oxidized into insoluble particles upon contact with the manganese oxides on the greensand granules.

• Odor Neutralization: Hydrogen Sulfide is oxidized into an insoluble sulfur precipitate, instantly removing the “rotten egg” smell.

• The Result: Clear, odorless water that is safe for household appliances, irrigation, and potable use.

Maintenance

To ensure the media continues to oxidize contaminants effectively:

• Regeneration: When the oxidizing capacity is exhausted, the bed must be regenerated using a weak Potassium Permanganate (KMnO_4) solution.

• Proactive Care: Vigorously backwash and regenerate the bed before its capacity is totally exhausted to prevent staining and extend the media’s service life.

• Replacement Cycle: Replace the media every 3 Years (or as calculated based on your specific water analysis and usage).
