Description
The Blue Spot 110W UV Sterilizer is a high-performance disinfection system designed for large residential properties, commercial buildings, and light industrial applications. By utilizing twin high-output lamps or a single high-intensity array, this system provides a powerful “safety net” for your water supply, neutralizing 99.9% of pathogens including bacteria, viruses, and cysts. With a robust flow rate of 5,400 Litres Per Hour, it is the ideal choice for large-scale borehole treatment and businesses requiring hospital-grade water safety.
Features
- 99.9% Pathogen Neutralization: Instantly deactivates harmful microorganisms like E. coli, Coliform, and viruses by destroying their DNA.
- Chemical-Free Disinfection: Provides total sterilization without altering the taste, odor, or chemical balance of the water.
- Heavy-Duty Stainless Steel Housing: Features a high-grade polished reactor chamber designed for maximum UV-C reflection and long-term corrosion resistance.
- 25mm (1″) Male Threads: Standardized high-flow connections to ensure minimal pressure drop across the system.
- Dual-Lamp Reliability: Often configured with two 55W lamps to ensure high-intensity exposure even at maximum flow rates.
- High-Purity Quartz Sleeves: Premium glass protection allows for maximum UVC penetration while keeping the electrical components isolated.
How It Works
The UV Process: As water enters the large-capacity stainless steel chamber, it is exposed to concentrated 254nm UVC light rays.
Molecular Disruption: The UVC light penetrates the cell walls of microorganisms and permanently disrupts their genetic code.
The Result: Pathogens are rendered “biologically inactive.” They cannot reproduce and therefore cannot cause infection. The water remains mineral-rich and safe for high-volume consumption.

Maintenance Schedule
To ensure the safety of your high-volume water supply, follow these service intervals:
- Replace UV Lamps: Every 9,000 hours (Approx. 12 months). Even if the lamps are still illuminated, the germicidal effectiveness drops significantly after one year.
- Clean Quartz Sleeves: Every 6 months. Any mineral scaling or “bio-film” on the glass will block the UV rays and compromise sterilization.
- Replace Quartz Sleeves: Every 2 years, or if the glass becomes permanently clouded or etched.
Essential “Good to Know”
- Pre-Filtration is Mandatory: UV light cannot kill what it cannot “see.” You must have a 5-micron sediment filter (such as a 20″ Big Blue) installed before this unit to remove suspended solids.
- No Residual Kill: UV disinfection only occurs inside the reactor. It is vital to ensure your downstream storage tanks and plumbing are sanitized before commissioning the system.
- Fragile Components: Due to the size and length of the quartz sleeves and lamps, these units are extremely fragile. Collection is mandatory or specialized crated delivery must be arranged.
What’s in the Box?
- 1 x Heavy-Duty Stainless Steel UV Reactor Chamber
- 2 x 55W High-Output UV Germicidal Lamps
- 2 x High-Purity Quartz Sleeves
- 1 x Dual-Lamp Electronic Ballast (Power Supply)
