Description
The BlueSpot Water String Wound Filter Cartridge is a high-performance sediment removal solution designed for challenging water conditions. Unlike standard melt-blown filters, this cartridge utilizes a unique yarn-woven design to provide genuine depth filtration. By capturing sediment throughout the entire thickness of the filter, it is exceptionally effective in areas with high levels of suspended solids, such as borehole water and industrial applications across South Africa.
Features
-
True Depth Filtration: The precision-woven yarn pattern creates a gradient that traps up to 99% of particulates including sand, silt, dirt, and rust.
-
Borehole Ready: Specifically engineered for water with high sediment loads, preventing premature clogging compared to surface-style filters.
-
Extended Service Life: The deep-groove structure allows the filter to hold significantly more dirt, leading to longer intervals between replacements.
-
Broad Compatibility: Available in all common sizes (10″, 20″, Slimline, and Big Blue) to fit standard South African filter housings.
-
High Flow Efficiency: Designed to maintain optimal water pressure even while capturing fine debris.
How It Works
-
Depth Capture: As water flows through the woven yarn, larger particles are trapped on the outer surface while finer particles are caught deeper in the winding toward the center core.
-
The Result: Cleaner water and superior protection for downstream appliances, pumps, and sensitive carbon or RO filters.
| Model Size | Max Flow Rate | Approx. Service Life | Max Pressure |
| 10″ Standard (Slim) | 20 L/min (5 GPM) | 20,000 Litres | 8.6 Bar |
| 10″ Big Blue (Fat) | 40 L/min (10 GPM) | 40,000 Litres | 8.6 Bar |
| 20″ Standard (Slim) | 40 L/min (10 GPM) | 40,000 Litres | 8.6 Bar |
| 20″ Big Blue (Fat) | 80 L/min (20 GPM) | 80,000 Litres | 8.6 Bar |
Maintenance
To ensure continuous protection for your water system:
-
Replacement Interval: Replace every 6 – 12 months depending on source water quality and visual dirt buildup.
-
Borehole Usage: Highly turbid water may require more frequent changes if a decrease in flow is noticed.
-
Temp Guide: Recommended maximum operating temperature within the housing is 52°C.
