What Does It Do?
The Top Strainer sits directly beneath the control valve (or filter head). Its primary function is to evenly distribute incoming water across the top surface of the filtration media during the Service Cycle (filtering). During the Backwash/Regeneration Cycle, it directs the flow from the top of the media bed back into the valve. When combined with the bottom strainer, it creates the essential pathway for water flow through the vessel, ensuring all media is utilized efficiently.
