Sediment Polypropylene filters (PP)

Price range: R57,50 through R195,00

BlueSpot Polypropylene (PP) Sediment Filter (1 & 5 Micron) High-performance “melt-blown” polypropylene filter for removing sediment, sand, silt, and rust. Prevents clogging in appliances and protects expensive downstream filters (RO/Carbon/UV). Available in 10″ and 20″ (Slimline and Big Blue) sizes. Replace every 6–12 months. The vital first stage for all under-counter, whole-house, and RO purification systems.

Description

The BlueSpot Water Sediment Filter is the foundation of any high-performance water treatment setup. Designed to remove sand, silt, dirt, and rust, this cartridge ensures your water is clear and debris-free. By capturing abrasive particulates at the entry point, it acts as a primary protector for your plumbing, geysers, washing machines, and expensive downstream filters like RO membranes.

Features

  • Graded Density Structure: Captures coarse particles on the outer layers and finer particles deeper within the core for maximum dirt-holding capacity.

  • Dual Micron Options: Available in 1 Micron (Ultra-fine clarity) or 5 Micron (Standard protection).

  • Appliance Safeguard: Prevents clogs and premature wear in taps, showerheads, and household appliances.

  • Versatile Compatibility: Fits standard Slimline and Big Blue housings across South Africa.

  • Pure Polypropylene: Made from food-grade “Melt Blown” polypropylene with no binders or adhesives.

How It Works

  • Physical Barrier: As water is forced through the multi-layered polypropylene web, suspended solids are trapped within the fibers.

  • The Result: Dramatically improved water clarity and a significant reduction in the “turbidity” or cloudiness of municipal or borehole water.

Maintenance

The Sediment Filter is a disposable cartridge and cannot be washed or reused. When to Replace:

  • By Schedule: Every 6 – 12 months (depending on water quality).

  • Flow Rate: When you notice a significant decrease in water pressure.

  • Visual Check: When the white cartridge turns a dark brown or orange color.

  • Borehole Note: Borehole users may need to replace filters more frequently due to higher sediment loads.

Related Systems

This filter is essential for the optimal performance of:

  • Countertop & Under-Counter: 1, 2, 3, and 4-Stage systems.

  • Reverse Osmosis: 5-Stage and 7-Stage RO units.

  • Whole-House: 1, 2, and 3-Stage Big Blue POE systems.

Dimensions

  • 10-inch Standard: 25cm (H) x 6cm (D)

  • 10-inch Big Blue: 25cm (H) x 11cm (D)

  • 20-inch Standard: 50cm (H) x 6cm (D)

  • 20-inch Big Blue: 50cm (H) x 11cm (D)

Note: Always install a sediment filter before Carbon or UV stages to prevent those more expensive components from becoming prematurely fouled by dirt
