The Activated Carbon Post-Filter, commonly known as the Taste & Odor Filter, is the last stage of filtration in most high-quality under-the-counter (UTC) purification systems and Reverse Osmosis (RO) units.

This filter is an in-line cartridge designed to be installed after the main purification stages

• In RO Systems: It is placed after the RO membrane and the storage tank to remove any residual taste or odor that may have been absorbed while the water sat in the tank.

• In Standard UTC Systems: It is placed as the final stage to guarantee maximum flavor and odor removal before the water reaches the faucet.

What does it do:

Its primary function is to polish the water, removing any remaining trace impurities, residual contaminants, and odors that may have been missed or picked up after the main filtration stages. This ensures the water delivered to your faucet has a clean, fresh, natural taste reminiscent of spring water.

Good to know:
Utilizes Activated Carbon, an excellent adsorbent material, to trap a wide range of impurities.

The final step to remove lingering chlorine, Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), and other contaminants that can affect the water's palatability.

Placed at the very end of the filtration sequence (post-RO or post-CTO) to ensure the highest quality taste just before consumption.

Maintenance:

The performance of the filter media (activated carbon) gradually diminishes as its capacity to adsorb contaminants is used up.

• Standard Interval: We recommend replacing the Taste & Odor Post-Filter every 12 months.

• Sign of Depletion: The most obvious sign it needs replacing is a return of bad taste or odor in your drinking water, especially if the water has been sitting in the RO storage tank.

• Installation: This filter is designed for quick and easy replacement. It typically uses quick-connect fittings, allowing you to simply pull out the old unit and push in the new one.

Note: Since this filter is positioned after the RO membrane or CTO filter, it rarely clogs. Its lifespan is purely dictated by the adsorption capacity of the carbon to maintain the best possible taste.
