Description :

The Blue Spot Water Pressure Tank RO 3.2G (8 Liter) steel is a hydropneumatic pressure tank designed for use with reverse osmosis (RO) systems.
It's a storage tank that collects purified water from the RO membrane.

Features :

Storage capacity: The tank provides storage space for treated water, allowing the RO system to operate continuously without interruptions.

Pressure maintenance: The tank helps maintain the pressure in the RO system, ensuring consistent water flow and quality.

Noise reduction: The tank can help reduce noise generated by the RO system, as the water is stored under pressure.

What does it do:

  • Solves the "Waiting" Problem: The reverse osmosis process purifies water very slowly. Without a tank, it could take several minutes to fill a single glass. The tank solves this by storing a large supply of clean water in advance.

  • Provides Instant Access: Inside the tank is a pressurized air bladder. As the purified water enters, it pushes against this bladder. When you open your RO faucet, the compressed air forces the water out, giving you a strong, steady flow without any waiting.

  • Ensures a Continuous Supply: The tank holds a reserve of purified water, so you have a convenient and continuous supply for drinking, cooking, and other uses.

Maintenance:

Unlike the filters, the tank itself doesn't need to be replaced on a regular schedule. The main maintenance tasks are to check the air pressure and ensure its cleanliness.

  • Check the air pressure annually. The tank has a pre-charged air bladder that can lose pressure over time. A tank with low pressure won't be able to push water out of the faucet. To check it, you'll need to shut off the water supply to the RO unit, drain the tank, and use a pressure gauge on the air valve (usually located on the side or bottom of the tank). The pressure should be between 5 and 7 PSI when empty. If it's too low, you can use a bicycle pump to recharge it.

When to Replace the Tank

The tank itself is a durable component, but it will eventually need to be replaced if it fails.

  • Loss of pressure. If you've tried to recharge the tank's air pressure but it won't hold, the internal bladder may be compromised, and the tank will need to be replaced.

  • Contamination. If you discover a serious contamination issue that can't be resolved with sanitization, it's best to replace the tank to be safe.

  • Physical damage. Any cracks, dents, or signs of rust on a steel tank could signal a leak and require a replacement.
