The 200-Liter Brine Tank is a high-capacity vessel designed to hold large volumes of salt and create the concentrated brine solution (NaCl) required for the regeneration of ion-exchange resins. This tank is an essential component for large residential, commercial, or industrial water softening systems. By providing a reliable reservoir for brine, it ensures your softener can effectively flush out hardness minerals (calcium and magnesium) and remain at peak softening efficiency.

What Does It Do?

• Brine Preparation: Acts as the mixing chamber where water dissolves salt to reach the saturation point required for resin cleaning.

• Automatic Level Control: The internal float works with your softener’s control valve to refill the tank with the exact amount of water needed for the next cycle.

• System Protection: The salt grid and brine well ensure that only liquid brine—not solid salt crystals—is sucked into the sensitive control valve.

• Bulk Salt Storage: Allows you to load multiple bags of salt at once, reducing the frequency of manual refills.

Maintenance

• Salt Level Monitoring: Check weekly. For optimal brine saturation, ensure the salt level stays above the water line (ideally at least half full).

• Annual Cleaning: Periodically empty the tank to remove "salt mush" or insoluble dirt that settles at the bottom. This prevents clogs in the brine valve.

• Float Inspection: Ensure the float moves freely up and down the riser tube without being obstructed by salt grains.

Good to Know

• Salt Bridging: If you notice your water is hard despite having salt in the tank, a "bridge" may have formed. Gently break any hard crust with a broom handle to allow salt to fall into the water.

• Corrosion Warning: Brine is highly corrosive. Ensure the tank lid is kept on to prevent salt dust from affecting nearby metal equipment.
