How It Works

• Exposure: As water enters the stainless steel chamber, it surrounds the quartz sleeve containing the 16W lamp.

• UVC Penetration: Concentrated light at the 254nm wavelength penetrates the cell walls of pathogens.

• Deactivation: The genetic material (DNA) of the bacteria or virus is permanently damaged, rendering the organism "biologically inactive" and harmless.

• Safe Output: The water exits the chamber ready for use, with no chemical residue or by-products.

Maintenance Schedule

To maintain the safety rating of your water supply, follow these service intervals:

• Replace UV Lamp: Every 9,000 hours (Approx. 12 months). Even if the lamp still glows, it no longer emits enough UVC to kill bacteria after one year.

• Clean Quartz Sleeve: Every 6 months. Mineral build-up on the glass acts as a shield for bacteria; keep it crystal clear.

• Replace Quartz Sleeve: Every 2 years, or if it becomes permanently etched or stained by hard water.

Essential "Good to Know"

• Pre-Filtration is Mandatory: UV light cannot penetrate "shadows" cast by suspended sediment. You must have a 5-micron (or smaller) sediment filter installed before this unit.

• Heat Build-up: If water is not used for long periods, the water inside the chamber may become warm. This is normal for 24/7 UV operation.

• Fragile Components: UV lamps and quartz sleeves are made of glass and are extremely fragile. Collection is highly recommended as standard couriers often result in breakage.
