The Blue Spot 6W UV Sterilizer with Flow Switch is a compact, high-precision safety barrier designed for point-of-use applications. This model is specifically engineered for under-counter filters, water dispensers, and low-flow laboratory equipment. Unlike standard UV units that stay on 24/7, this unit features an integrated flow switch, which activates the UV lamp only when water is moving. This prevents heat build-up in the water and significantly extends the lifespan of the lamp and ballast.

How It Works

Detection: As soon as you open your tap, the internal flow switch detects movement and ignites the UV lamp.

The UV Process: Water flows around the quartz sleeve and is exposed to intense 254nm UVC rays.

Disruption: The UVC light penetrates the DNA of microorganisms, rendering them sterile and harmless.

Shutdown: Once the tap is closed and flow stops, the lamp automatically switches off.

Maintenance Schedule

Even with a flow switch, regular maintenance is vital for safety:

• UV Lamp Replacement: Required every 12 months (even if the lamp still triggers, the germicidal gas depletes).

• Quartz Sleeve Cleaning: Every 6 months. Any mineral film on the glass will block the UV light.

• O-Ring Check: Inspect seals during every lamp change to prevent leaks.

Essential "Good to Know"

• Pre-Filtration is Mandatory: UV light cannot "see" through dirt. You must have a sediment filter (5-micron or smaller) before the UV unit.

• Flow Orientation: Ensure the flow switch is installed in the correct direction (indicated by the arrow) to ensure the lamp triggers correctly.

• Fragile Components: UV lamps and quartz sleeves are extremely fragile. Collection is highly recommended to avoid courier breakage.
