What does it do:

The Bottom Strainer is the base-level component that supports the entire filter media bed. In the Service Cycle (filtering), it collects the fully treated water that has passed through the media and directs it up the riser pipe to the control valve. In the Backwash Cycle, it helps to distribute the backwash flow evenly across the bottom of the vessel, lifting and cleaning the media efficiently.
