Description

The Vontron ULP22-8040 is a state-of-the-art Ultra-Low Pressure (ULP) Reverse Osmosis membrane designed for high-efficiency, large-scale industrial water purification. As a standard 8040 element, it delivers an exceptional permeate flow rate of up to 12,100 GPD while operating at approximately two-thirds the pressure of standard membranes. This energy-saving design drastically reduces electricity consumption and capital costs for pumps and piping, making it the ideal solution for South African commercial RO plants treating surface, ground, or municipal water.

• Maintenance & Critical Care

• Robust Pre-treatment: To prevent irreversible fouling, feedwater must be chemically controlled with an SDI < 5 and zero free chlorine (< 0.1 ppm).

• Performance Tracking: If the flow rate drops by 10–15% or the pressure differential increases by 15%, a chemical Cleaning-In-Place (CIP) is required.

• Wide pH Tolerance: The element supports chemical cleaning within a pH range of 2 to 12 to effectively remove organic or mineral scaling.

   

• Wet Storage: If the system is offline for an extended period, the membrane must be stored in a 1.0% Sodium Bisulfite solution to prevent biological growth.
