What does it do:

This commercial RO system uses semi-permeable membranes to perform highly effective water filtration. It is specifically designed to:

• Drastically Reduce $\text{TDS}$: Removes the vast majority of dissolved mineral salts and inorganic impurities.

• Filter Contaminants: Eliminates chlorine, suspended particles, heavy metals, and many chemical pollutants.

• Produce Demineralized Water: Generates water suitable for preventing scale buildup in industrial equipment like boilers and autoclaves

Good to know:

• Required Pre-treatment: To protect the RO membrane and achieve the expected lifespan, proper pre-filtration (sediment and carbon) is non-negotiable. If the feed water is hard or has iron, a water softener or iron removal filter must be installed upstream.

• Waste Water: RO is a separation process; a portion of the feed water (concentrate) is rejected to the drain, typically at a ratio of $1:1$ to $1:2$ (product to waste).

• $\text{TDS}$ Limits: Best performance is achieved when feed water TDS is below 2,000 ppm.
