What does it do:

The Clino 1354 is primarily a powerful depth filter and adsorption filter. It forces raw water through the deep, multi-layered Clino media bed.

1. Mechanical Removal: It physically strains particles (3-5 micron) that cause cloudiness and physical debris (sand, rust, dirt), resulting in high-quality effluent water.

2. Chemical Mitigation: Due to the negative surface charge of the Zeolite (Clinoptilolite), it effectively adsorbs and removes positively charged ions, including Ammonium and low concentrations of heavy metals, improving taste and water safety.

3. Extends System Life: By removing fine particles, it protects all downstream components (pumps, pipes, UV sterilizers) from abrasion and clogging.

Good to know:

• Vessel Capacity ($\text{3T}$): The 1354 vessel requires approximately 3 standard 25kg bags (75kg) of Clino Media to achieve the correct bed depth for optimal flow and filtration.

• Flow Rate: This larger vessel is rated for flow rates of around $\text{2000}-\text{2500}$ Litres per hour ($\text{33}-\text{42 L/min}$), comfortably supplying large households or multiple water outlets simultaneously.

• Manual Backwash: The system must be periodically backwashed (turned to the backwash position) to flush out the trapped solids and prevent media channeling.

• Long Life: The Clino media is extremely durable and is only physically cleaned during backwash; it is generally not replaced for 5 years or more.

Maintenance:
